The Book of the Cosmos

Dennis Danielson

Found this at a random bookshop in India - which is kind of like finding the glowing world in a dusty corner.

It’s an anthology of the West’s greatest minds (why people willingly restrict themselves to the West is beyond me, such a self-imposed poverty of thought) imagining what the cosmos is, and how we relate to it.

From Aristotle all the way through to Stephen Hawking, the book draws passages from works across time to illustrate how our engagement with the idea of the larger cosmos evolved alongside us.
